The Words from Your Heart

Why me?

Why do I have to kena her as a group member?

I'll have to be honest. I don't really like her. She got quite a bad attitude and apparently she cannot tell when people that she was currently talking to is talking to someone else.

I dunno if it is just sheer bad luck. Or something else.

On my way back home just now, I was like thinking, "How am I gonna deal with her?" etc. when suddenly, (I believe) the Holy Spirit asked me a simple question. "Will your thoughts now please God? Who are you actually trying to please?"

So I was like... "God, I cannot handle it! I cannot stand her!"

The Spirit asked again, "So who are you trying to please?"

That made me think. People has been avoiding her... all the way from Sec 1 till now. I admit, I myself am trying to avoid her too. Which is not right... So, if I continue to avoid her even during the trip, God would not be happy with it.

If I talk to her and do not ignore her, I believe God will be happy with it, but I might face childish teasing and stuff...

A little less than half an hour ago, I got back home. And I was still stuck in the dilemma. After a while, Matthew 15 came to my mind.

Matthew 15:1-20
(1)Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, (2)"Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don't wash their hands before they eat!"
(3) Jesus replied, "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? (4) For God said, 'Honor your father and mother' and 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.' (5) But if you say that if a man says to his father or mother, 'Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is a gift devoted to God,' (6) he is not to 'honor his father' with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. (7) You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
(8) " 'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. (9) They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by man.' (Isaiah 29:13)"
(10) Jesus called the crowd to him and said, "Listen and understand. (11) What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean'."
(12) Then the disciples came to him and asked, "Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?"
(13) He replied, "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. (14) Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit."
(15) Peter said, "Explain this parable to us."
(16) "Are you still so dull?" Jesus asked them. (17) "Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? (18) But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean'. (19) For out of the heart comes evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. (20) These are what makes a man 'unclean'; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him 'unclean' ".

So it's quite true. Whatever you think or say comes from your heart. For example, by having a lustful thought about someone comes from a sinful desire in your heart. Your heart is just like the command center of a forward base. When you want to get your nuclear missiles ready, the command center will pass the order first, before the missles are prepared. If you have enough of that particular battle, you would send out an emissary. The order would still have to be given from the command center.

I am... sinning whenever I wanted to avoid her. Whenever she asked me something I would just walk away. Which is wrong too might I add.

Matthew 22:37-40 also puts it aptly
Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbour as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Luke 6:31 also says:
"Do to others as you would have them do to you."

Luke 6:37 says: "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven."

God has said in His Word that we cannot judge anyone based on our own human opinion and how we perceive others.

How would you like it if people ignored you? How would you like it if people says bad and hurtful things about you?

I have decided. I rather honour God than man.

I will treat her just like I treat others. It is also the right thing to do.

Period.

Electric guitar time! =D
