Jessica, I'm not sure if this can apply haha so I won't send it out yet... lol...

anyway

Emotions are given by God. However... some of us (me included) let the devil use it as his own personal "Playground of Pain"... giving us a lot of rubbish and making us confused and stuff...

(oh yah btw these two weeks, my QT material is on "Emotions")

It was the QT session for last Wednesday... was really tired and stuff after tuition, somehow confused over a lot of things over the past couple of weeks... Shared it with someone, but that someone just placed CAPS and sent this reply in the end:

"Why do you keep emoing about ___?" (I don't feel comfortable to disclose the blank... paiseh)

Although it might be concern, but it hurts lah. Not like I like to emo about it!!! as if I want to think about it! Am I that free to waste my life on this???

Anyway...

Really zonked out and stuff... had things on my mind, not sure if God would like to hear them... I suppose I let doubt take hold of me, letting it whisper "You think your problems are important to God? You think God would care if you have no confidence in your grad exam coming up? You think God will care about your mind and what you think?"

And I did the QT, and the passage was on Matthew 26:36-46

=====

"Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray." He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me."

Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter. "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

He went away for a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done."

When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.

Then he returned to his disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us go! Here comes my betrayer!"

=====
In context, Jesus knew that He was going to die. And since Jesus is also fully Man (while being fully God) he also have emotions. I guess he would have felt the same thing as we would... say if we knew that if the next time we step out onto the road, we will get knocked down by a speeder and get smeared all over the road.

Did not get much out of this... and I was really tired, so I continued reading the QT passage... and what struck me was this paragraph:

"We can learn two things from Jesus' way of handling this grief. Firstly, He takes His grief to God. He knows that prayer is going to be the way to deal with these kinds of strong emotions. Secondly, Jesus surrounds Himself with His closest friends. He knew that He needed the support of those who loved Him to be nearby, praying and keeping watch for Him."

How true. When we feel hurt, backstabbed, rejected etc. the best remedy is to turn to God. God knows what you are feeling, He knows your hurt... and He is waiting for you to share it with Him. Just as Jesus needed to share his hurt with God, so do we. No man can stand alone in the psychological psyche. Sooner or later, we would collapse under the pressure of our emotions and hurt if we have no one to share it with.

(any professional psychologist that passes by here, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.)

When we share our burdens with God, He will listen, no matter what, and He would give the appropriate advice. Sometimes through the Bible, people or even by speaking to you face to face.

So there I was, pouring out all my troubles to God... and in the course of that, the next day I found out an alternate guitar tuning to play in any songs in the key of G, but that's another matter...

Next thing is that Jesus has His closest friends with Him... I guess friends will be able to provide the comfort, the advice and the mountain of tissue papers that would come F.O.C (although some evil friends could ask you to treat them to lunch after that HAHA!)

Friends. Hard to get these days, with people trying to outdo each other, wanting to be the best there is in the various industries. "Friendship" is now built on intentions and motives... for example, you know that someone in the same class as you can be a great help in physics/chem. So when you get a seat next to him/her you feel better and you try to be friends with him/her, so that you can improve yourself too.

True friendship can be found, yes, but it's harder I guess...

So far, the only place that I actually found true friends are in church, where the people there are willing to listen and give advice/rebuking when needed. They won't pretend to listen or push you away, or say hurtful things while you are trying to share something...

Does this cause isolation among teenagers these days?... I have no idea HAHA lol...

anyway (I'll give you a lollipop if you actually read to here and have not fallen asleep yet...)

I guess the bottomline is this: Don't think for one second that God does not care about you. Do not think that you are negleted in life (even though a lot of people find you ridiculous, for example...). God is there. He is always there. Ready to listen and comfort you if you have problems.

He is seriously all powerful...
